Bob’s Big Boy Friday Night Classic Car Show

It’s no secret that technology is taking over our everyday lives. Wherever I go I see kids my age glued to their smartphones. Sleepovers and play dates almost always involve video games. And if you’re not on social media, good luck hanging out with the cool kids. With all of this technology around all the time, I couldn’t help but wonder what life was like before computers and smartphones existed.

Last Friday, I decided to see for myself what a night out on the town was like during a time where the only way you could make plans with your friends was by calling their house phone or knocking on their door. I laced up my chucks, rolled up my sleeves and headed down to Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank, CA for its Friday night classic car show. After arriving, I instantly felt like I had stepped back in time to the 1950s.

There were classic cars everywhere! But the coolest one I saw was an original 1965 Shelby Cobra that was said to be worth $2.5 million. I couldn’t believe it. I was lucky enough to talk to a few of the car owners and learned that some have been going to Bob’s every Friday for the last 40 years. I learned a lot about what life was like growing up in the 1950s, and I even learned some new dance moves from the 60s that I’ll be sure to use the next chance I get.

Even though I spent a night without technology, I still had to film it all to share with you. Watch the video below to see all the fun, and subscribe to my YouTube channel to stay up-to-date on all the new episodes that I’ll be posting every week.
